What is the difference between a choker and a necklace? A choker sits close around the neck, above the collarbone. Our chokers measure 31 to 38 cm; a classic necklace starts at about 41 cm and hangs lower.
Which choker length do I need? Measure around your neck where the choker should sit. The choker should be slightly longer than that. Most have an extension chain of 4.5 to 8 cm, so you can adjust the fit.
What does "choker" mean? The word comes from "to choke" and simply means a necklace worn close to the neck. Close does not mean tight: a choker should never press.
What are the chokers made of? Most are stainless steel; the pearl chokers are 925 sterling silver with freshwater pearls. Gold and rose gold versions are plated.
Can I wear my choker in the water? Stainless steel pieces are waterproof and hypoallergenic, and can be worn while swimming or showering. For 925 sterling silver we recommend avoiding perfume, deodorant and other chemicals.
